Drink Uptown review
My wife and I rarely have a chance to get out. Married, with kids… it just isnt easy. However we had a chance yesterday from 5 - 7 (2 hours, door to door) to get out together.
We ended up going to the Uptown area of Minneapolis, near where we live. For whatever reason Sunny said “lets go to Drink”. This place blows!
First, we pulled up into the valet area. It wasnt a necessity but we were really on a time crunch. The parking meters were marked no parking, valet, with orange cones on the curb. However there was no valet to be found. We ended up parking in the lot behind Drink and the Lagoon theatre.
The rooftop deck is the only thing going to Drink. The service was horribly slow. Their slogan is Drink: the Original Fun Place. Guess what, there is nothing either orginal or fun about this place. Its a tgiFridays with a rooftop deck.
This morning I read this review on vita.mn. I wish I had before we went. Turns out most people agree, Drink stinks!

Nice. It didn’t get any better at Drinks with drinks? Sorry. That was bad.
The place went downhill since Ashley left. She may have quite possibly been the greatest server ever. It has been a while since I have been back but it was a good weeknight place, plus its proximity to Burrito Loco is a huge plus…
Scott thanks bro, but honestly I dont see how one server could have helped. The place is vast and the service blows. They seem to focus on quality of server bodies and not their ability to help customers. Plus the beer in a plastic glass was hard one to stomache (for me anyway).
Yep, Drink sucks. My husband actually suggested it to me a couple weeks ago as well. We walked in, took a tour, and walked right back out again in favor of the Independent.
For a rooftop bar in Uptown, I recommend Stella’s. While the food/service is not much better than drink, the view IS superior, there’s no thumpity-thump frat-kid-music, and the crowd is a little more mature.
I wanted to go to http://www.campiello.damico.com/ but who cares what the husband wants…
Got to get somewhere in uptown sometime this summer. Won’t be drink!
I have been curious but never entered, I will hede your advice and steer clear if drink stinks, i think.
I will second Rantys advice on Stellas for a rooftop, or Joes Garage (Loring Park) - great views, good people watching and good eats.
Joes Garage is cool. The owner is a really nice guy too.
I hate Drink. I really do. I swear, at night, they turn the music up louder and louder until it is literally impossible to hear the people sitting right next to you.
