Investing in a car, common!
I have to laugh. I found this post interesting. I am far from a car nut. Or, at least in the mechanic sort of way. I like cars. But if you ask my what Ive got under the hood, Ill shrug, its an engine (I think). I like the car, its about all the matters to me.
Ive bought a car or two… As well as a few other mechanized toys. My wife might sigh if you ask her. And, more or less, Ive done okay by the hobby.Â
My most recent purchase, and sale, was a Plymouth Fury that I bought from Charlie Sheen, yep the actor. The car itself was amazing. Had every possible cool design thing I was into. The most amazing stereo short of your nearest nightclub. But it had a few limiting things I didnt factor when I bought it. One, the damn thing didnt fit in my garage. Ooops. If you ask my friends, nothing fits in my garage, which is true… But I wanted to store the thing over winter. Plus, it was an addition to a series of toys that I really couldnt justify keeping. I sold the car a few months after I bought it for close to what I paid. I lost a few bucks, but nothing too troubling.
My dream car was a Porsche. I say was because I have one now. I bought it on Ebay about 2 years ago. This my friends, was a good purchase. If you are not in a hurry, just keep your eyes open and let the Internet do the work for you. I could sell the car now, after driving for 2 years, for more than I paid. Cool!
Otherwise, and Im sure you have the same experience, I lost money on every other vehicle I had.
Whats cool about this article interesting is it gives some insight on how or what to buy to quickly resell. Investment, ouch, too risky for me, and a hell of a lot of money up front, but sounds fun as hell!
