Investing in Politics, India style
This is so awesome. I have seen plenty of “buy a condo get a LCD TV” incentives, but who would have thought of using it for politics?
Apparently India did. The political group is/was offering all kinds of electronic goodies, as reported, for votes.Â
I would be even more inclined to vote it that vote came with a shiney new PS3!

In a typical mutual fund that invests in international and/or emerging markets, the disclosure cautions investors to consider the currency fluctuation, reporting standard, politics, etc… This article definitely confirms the emerging markets such as India, China are riskier than those developed countries regardless of India & China’s expected growth to be in double digits for the next dozen years. The psychology of small investors (even some financial advisors) is eager to place bets in these emerging markets to capture their exploding growths. That could be just that – bets! With the political parties able to “persuade” their voters to take certain sides, the odds are high that the winning political party could take the country into a totally different dimension. We’ve seen our taxes raised during a certain presidency even after we heard “read my lips, no more taxes†during a presidential campaign. On the other hand, a famous ancient Chinese character translates “where lies danger, there’s opportunityâ€. So, place your bets.
