My latest pet peave
My latest pet peave, I do not have that many… Just dont ask my wife.
So last night we went to Ikea to get a few things. Normal for us, the people at Ikea know us, especially the kids club, and the kitchen sections. I have personally done about 15 Ikea kitchens now, so have spent a lot o’ time there.
But let me get to the point. I really hate those bluetooth wireless cell headsets. I mean I get their function. They are great, in fact they should be mandated, for driving. However do people realize what an ass they look like when they have that Star Trek looking thing blinking on their head while they are shopping, or eating at a restaurant? Its really not so bad when someone is alone and doing their own thing, but if you are with someone and have a headset glued to your head, I think its a problem.
I should add that I spend plenty of time on the phone. Too much really. Id rather be here, chatting with you fine folks. My cell is pushed against my ear often enough. But I dont hold it there waiting, especially when I am with my family.
Common folks, we all have our business calls, I do it all the time. But if you are out on a date, with your wife, playing with the kids, having a drink with your bud, take that damn thing off!
And if I may… You’d look super cool with a hip flippingrich.com tshirt.

LOL so true..I hate it when someone has the headset and they say something like “HEY!” and you turn around and go hi? and look like a fool doing so… ha
They definitely aren’t bad for driving but I agree with you on everything else.
Maybe if you got a hair cut derrik, you might not be so angry. My pet peave is well…… everyone. They’re always in my way. But can’t be mad at them it’s just in there nature to breath. let it lye I say. Plus freaks in their head set are equal to or greater than those with belt clip PDAs and Cells. No one loves them.
Obviously a touchy subject…I admit they drive me crazy as do belt clip PDAs and Cells but until we as a human race develop our power of telepathy we might as well get used to them.
“Some people, occasionally referred to by themselves or others as “transhumanists”, believe that technologically enabled telepathy, coined “techlepathy”, will be the inevitable future of humanity.” - Wikipedia
Dont get me wrong, I understand it all. I just think we need to take a time out here and there. I mean if youre with your family or friends pull the thing out. I mean, how important are we that we needed to be plugged in full time?
Derrik. I’m not joking when I say…”everytime I see one of those bluetooth earbuds, I want to punch it into their ear”. Ok. Well, I’m not that violent. But it’s to the point where if I’m with my friends, and we see Mr. Technology wearing a bluetooth, they look at me like “don’t do it, man. it’s not worth it”. I hate those almost as much as I hate Sean Salisbury.
I agree, its pretty annoying and awkward when Mr. Technology suddenly starts speaking to himself. More annoying when I accidentally respond!
Funny!
I completely agree with you. I do where one myself but i use it when i’m in the car or when I need to talk and type at the same time.
I take mine off when I’m at dinner, outside with the kids or when i’m not using it. I’ve noticed if I keep it in to long it hurts my ear. So I make it a point to only where it as needed.

The funniest is when the guys that wear sunglasses inside the bar are also wearing an earbud…and it’s glowing blue the time. *clinches fist*
You have to hand in those those folks though. Sometimes I make the mistake that someone is talking to me, and when I turn around, there goes the flashing blue light on their ears.
agreed, it’s annoying. I see people all the time on the street, talking to themselves. Sometimes, in a crowd, you wonder if they’re talking to you or not.
I wanted a gold coloured Dolce and Gabbana one only b/c it was d&G however I think they are stupid. I hate ear pieces I would get one because my ears are too small to hold earbuds.. but I rarely use my cellphone where I cant use my hands.. I dunno. I hate technology :\ and wish i were amish *goes back to blogging*
You forgot to mention how so many of those fools are also the ones who feel its necessary to increase the volume of their voice when they cant adequately hear the person on the other end. Just another painful branch in the road of cell phone etiquette (or lack thereof)
